Wolverley CS Secondary School

PSRE

Detail of the School ChapelPSRE is a combination of learning about religion and learning about ourselves.  Key Stage 3 students investigate several of the world religions; exploring their beliefs, customs and traditions. PSRE at Wolverley is about being active learners and getting involved. We promote asking questions and finding answers

During Key Stage 4 students examine and debate a number of different contemporary issues relevant to today's society and themselves.  This provides students with an opportunity to develop their own opinions as well as promoting an understanding of different religious attitudes. On the whole PSRE as a subject tries to encourage tolerance and rid the students of ignorance

PSRE does not only consist of religious education.  Students also study PSE and citizenship, which includes topics on bullying, friendship, global issues and human rights.
